About the ISO 9001 Lead Implementer
The ISO 9001 Lead Implementer programme gives you the practical skills to establish, run and continually improve a quality management system (QMS) based on ISO 9001. Delivered fully self-paced and online, it follows a proven implementation approach built around the process approach, the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and risk-based thinking.
You’ll learn to translate ISO 9001’s requirements into a working QMS — from understanding the organisation’s context and defining a quality policy, through operational control and documented information, to performance evaluation and continual improvement — and to prepare the organisation for certification.

Frequently Asked Questions
A PECB credential proving you can plan, implement and manage a quality management system (QMS) that conforms to ISO 9001.
Managers, consultants and professionals responsible for setting up or running a quality management system in their organisation. A basic understanding of ISO 9001 helps but isn't required.
The exam is an essay-type, open-book paper of roughly 3 hours. You need the passing score set by PECB (generally around 70%). After passing you receive a 'Certificate of Exam Success', and the full certification is issued once you also meet PECB's professional-experience requirements.
The Lead Implementer learns to build, deploy and manage the quality management system (QMS), while the Lead Auditor learns to independently audit one against ISO 9001. Implementers work on the 'build' side; auditors on the 'assess' side. Many professionals earn both over time.
PECB certifications are valid for three years. You keep yours active by earning Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits and paying the annual maintenance fee.
