The Core 1 and Core 2 structure made the learning path easy to follow. The practical exercises also helped me feel more confident with common IT support tasks.
The hands-on labs were especially useful. Working through troubleshooting scenarios helped me understand how the concepts apply in real support environments.
A solid introduction to hardware, networking and troubleshooting. The practical modules were the strongest part of the training for me.
The courseware was clear and well organised, and the combination of instructor guidance and practice activities made the exam preparation much easier.
Good overall value, especially with the exam voucher and lab access included. I found the troubleshooting and operating system sections particularly useful.

For anyone starting out in IT support, CompTIA A+ remains one of the most widely recognised entry-level certifications. It is vendor-neutral and covers hardware, networking, operating systems, security and troubleshooting, and CompTIA reports that it appears in more tech-support job listings than any other IT credential. It is most valuable when combined with hands-on practice, which is why this course includes labs.
CompTIA A+ requires two exams, Core 1 (220-1201) and Core 2 (220-1202), which can be taken in any order. Each has up to 90 multiple-choice, drag-and-drop and performance-based questions and a 90-minute time limit; the passing scores are 675 (Core 1) and 700 (Core 2) on a 100–900 scale. Core 1 covers mobile devices, networking, hardware, virtualisation and cloud, and troubleshooting; Core 2 covers operating systems, security, software troubleshooting and operational procedures.
A+ is designed as an entry-level certification and has no formal prerequisites, so beginners and career changers can take it. The challenge is breadth rather than depth: two exams covering a wide range of topics, including performance-based tasks. Following a structured course, practising in labs and working through practice questions makes it very achievable; basic familiarity with computers helps.
CompTIA A+ is aimed at entry-level IT support roles such as Help Desk Technician, IT Support Technician, Desktop Support Technician, Field Service Technician and Technical Support Specialist. It is also a common first step before Network+, Security+ or Server+. The certification strengthens your applications, but hiring also depends on your experience, skills and local job market.
