Frequently Asked Questions

The NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) is a widely used set of guidelines, developed by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, that helps organisations identify, protect against, detect, respond to and recover from cybersecurity risks. This course specifically covers how to use COBIT 2019 as the governance layer that supports and structures NIST CSF implementation.

No, COBIT 2019 is the successor to COBIT 5 and introduces a more flexible, modular approach to governance, including design factors that let organisations tailor the framework to their specific context, along with updated goals cascades and governance/management objectives. This course is based on the current COBIT 2019 framework, not the earlier COBIT 5 version.

COBIT 2019 is built around a set of core principles for the governance system, including meeting stakeholder needs, covering the enterprise end-to-end, applying a single integrated framework, enabling a holistic approach, and separating governance from management. These principles are covered in the course as the foundation for applying COBIT alongside NIST CSF.

The course runs over 3 days and is available as either Online Live instructor-led training or Self-Paced e-learning, with the official APMG exam included in the course fee.
