To participate in the course, it is preferable to have already obtained the CompTIA Network+, Security+ certification or have gained practical experience in information security or equivalent experience.

The price depends on the package you choose. For CompTIA PenTest+, Profice offers Online Live instructor-led training (Live course, or Live course + exam) and Self-Paced E-Learning + Exam. The "+ exam" packages include the official CompTIA exam voucher, official courseware, hands-on labs, a certificate and lifetime support. PenTest+ is worth it if you want a vendor-neutral certification that covers the full penetration testing process — from planning and scoping to exploitation, post-exploitation and reporting. It combines hands-on, performance-based questions with the business and compliance side of testing, and is a logical next step after Security+ for offensive security roles.
PenTest+ is an advanced exam. The current version, PT0-003, has up to 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions, a 165-minute time limit and a passing score of 750 on a 100–900 scale. CompTIA recommends Network+ and Security+ (or equivalent knowledge) and 3–4 years of hands-on penetration testing experience, so practical lab time is essential.
The PT0-003 exam covers five domains: Engagement Management (13%), Reconnaissance and Enumeration (21%), Vulnerability Discovery and Analysis (17%), Attacks and Exploits (35%) and Post-Exploitation and Lateral Movement (14%). You can download the full course syllabus as a PDF from this page.
PenTest+ supports offensive security roles such as Penetration Tester, Vulnerability Assessment Analyst, Security Consultant and Network Security Analyst. Employers typically also look for practical experience, so combining certification with lab work and real-world practice is the strongest route.
