The ISO 27001 Foundation certification confirms a candidate understands the core concepts, structure and requirements of the ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard. It's typically taken before the Practitioner level, which builds on that foundational knowledge by testing the ability to apply the standard in practice, such as scoping and implementing parts of an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
